Visalia Unified School District was the victim of a cyber attack Tuesday morning.
The district announced that a ransomware attack has impacted and shut down many IT systems.
Tuesday’s attack comes at a time when virtual learning is still a major factor as VUSD operates a hybrid learning model for many students.
However, the district said classes continued Tuesday both in-person and online.
“Local and federal law enforcement have been notified and are aware of the incident,” VUSD said in a statement.
“In addition, the district is working with a cyber security business to mitigate the cyber attack and restore IT systems back to normal operation. Please be assured that all parties are working as fast as possible to bring district systems back online.”
VUSD said it will update families over email.
