Scott Peterson beat up in prison over pickleball game

The convicted murderer set off another inmate by smashing a ball at the inmate’s body.

Convicted murderer Scott Peterson was beat up in prison in an altercation over a pickleball game. 

TMZ reported that a fellow inmate at Mule Creek State Prison attacked Peterson over his playing style. 

The big picture: Prison officials confirmed that Peterson was attacked last Sunday and has remained in prison while sustaining the minor injuries. 

  • According to the report, Peterson smashed a ball directly at the body of another inmate, which ignited the altercation. 

Flashback: Peterson gained national infamy for murdering his pregnant wife. 

  • Laci Peterson, who was eight months pregnant, went missing from the family home in Modesto on Christmas Eve in 2022. 
  • Her body was found in the San Francisco Bay in April 2003, nearby where Peterson told police he had gone fishing. 
  • Peterson was convicted in 2004 but has continued to maintain his innocence in the past two decades. 
  • The Los Angeles Innocence Project took up his case last year and was granted access to evidence that was withheld at the trial.
