Fresno’s Playland is at risk of closing next month without a new vendor stepping in to operate the storied amusement park.
Driving the news: Vendor Helm and Sons took over Playland in 2023, reopening the amusement park after the COVID-19 pandemic.
- But Playland has faced financial challenges and has been on the verge of closing ever since it reopened.
The big picture: KMPH reported that Davey Helm, representing Helm and Sons, told the Storyland-Playland board of directors that the vendor will not renew the contract for Playland.
- That means Playland will close down at the start of next month if a new vendor does not take over operations.
