Fresno man sentenced to prison for firebombing cars

The felon also illegally possessed a gun after being previously convicted of carrying a loaded weapon.

A Fresno man is going to prison for firebombing cars.

Scott Eric Anderson, 44, was sentenced this week to three years in prison for conspiracy to destroy property, malicious destruction by means of an explosive device and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The big picture: Anderson committed multiple pipe-bombings on unoccupied vehicles and property in Fresno from November 2022 to February 2023.

  • Two auto-related businesses on Clinton Ave. had their vehicles damaged.
  • On Feb. 19 2023, Anderson bombed a vehicle used by a home healthcare business on Fallbrook Ave.
  • He sometimes recorded his crimes on video.
  • Law enforcement also seized a pistol that was found in Anderson’s bedroom. He had previously been convicted of carrying a loaded and concealed weapon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
