A former Fresno County judge has been charged with sexual assault.
The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday that a grand jury has indicted retired Fresno County Superior Court Judge Adolfo Corona, 65, on sexual assault charges.
The big picture: Corona faces two charges in the felony indictment: one count of sexual penetration by force, fear, or duress; and one count of sexual battery.
- He entered a not guilty plea in court on Monday and has a bail of $70,000.
- ABC30 reported that Corona was formally indicted on July 26, with the Grand Jury’s indictment under seal until Monday.
What we’re watching: Corona faces a maximum of eight years in state prison if he is convicted.
- He would also be required to register as a sex offender.
- The next court date for Corona is scheduled for Nov. 14, with a tentative trial date set for Jan. 9.
