Two of Fresno State’s best football players in recent history had an opportunity to impress NFL Scouts over the weekend.
Quarterback Jake Haener and wide receiver Jalen Moreno-Cropper performed various drills at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
By the numbers: Moreno-Cropper turned heads in the 40-yard dash with his time of 4.4 seconds, the sixth-best time out of all receivers who ran at the combine.
Haener’s best physical drills came in the three-cone drill and the vertical jump. He placed third in the three-cone drill with a time of 7.01 seconds and was fourth in the vertical jump at 35 inches.
State of play: During the quarterback throwing section of the combine, Moreno-Cropper flashed his skills with a one-handed grab.
Haener also threw with some of the nation’s top quarterbacks, and the duo are expected to return to the Central Valley for Fresno State’s pro day on March 30, giving them another opportunity to showcase their talents in front of scouts.
