Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers agree to four-year contract

The star wide receiver will continue his career with the 49ers after a lengthy standoff.

After months of negotiations, the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to an extension with wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Aiyuk has reportedly agreed to a four-year extension worth $120 million.

The big picture: Aiyuk’s extension also gives him $76 million in guaranteed money, giving him the fifth-largest guaranteed total of all wide receivers in the NFL.

  • With two weeks to go before the season starts, Aiyuk will return to practice for the first time since last season after holding out of training camp.

Flashback: Aiyuk had a breakout season last year, forming a strong connection with quarterback Brock Purdy and earning second-team All-Pro honors.

  • Since being drafted 25th overall in 2020, Aiyuk has recorded 269 catches for 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns.

What we’re watching: San Francisco will now presumably turn its attention to reworking its contract with star left tackle Trent Williams, who has held out of practice in the hopes of securing another deal.
