President-elect Trump revealed a new slate of tech appointments in posts on his Truth Social platform.
He expressed excitement about the team working alongside White House AI & Crypto Czar David Sacks to drive scientific breakthroughs and secure America’s technology leadership.
The big picture: Michael Kratsios, designated as the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) director, previously served as the president-elect’s chief technology officer. He also held the role of acting undersecretary of Defense for research and engineering.
- Lynne Parker, selected as the executive director of the Presidents Council of Advisors for Science and Technology (PCAST) and OSTP director’s counselor, brings a wealth of experience from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, where she was the associate vice chancellor leading national policy efforts in artificial intelligence.
- The Crypto Council, chaired by Bo Hines and labeled as a new advisory group consisting of renowned figures from the crypto industry, aims to provide strategic guidance on digital assets.
- Bo Hines, chosen as the executive director of the Crypto Council, is a former GOP House candidate and college football player who previously contested against Rep Wiley Nickel D-NC in 2022.
- Sriram Krishnan was named as the OSTP senior policy advisor to focus on maintaining American leadership in AI. Krishnan, described as an engineer and investor, currently works as a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz specializing in collaborating with entrepreneurs and governments on AI projects.
