16 recruits send letters of intent to Fresno State

The Bulldogs added several players from the Central Valley coming off a victory over New Mexico State in the New Mexico Bowl.

Fresno State football added 16 new recruits on Wednesday as part of the early signing period.

Eight of the future Bulldogs come from the Central Valley.

The big picture: Seven of the signees will bolster Fresno State’s offense, while the other nine recruits are slated to help out the defense.

  • Two of the recruits come from California junior colleges, and four of the high school recruits come directly from Fresno and Clovis.
  • Fresno State noted that 13 of the signees are listed as three-star recruits.

What they’re saying: “We are excited to add these 16 guys to our roster for next season with a group that brings versatility and talent on both sides of the ball,” said Head Coach Jeff Tedford in a statement.

  • “This signing class is full of local products that our staff did a great job at keeping home to play in the Valley. We will have four mid-year additions, including two junior college transfers and two high school signees, who will be able to gain experience with us early on. Our staff recruited a good group of young men who have the qualities that it takes to be a Bulldog.”
