Larry Elder, LaMalfa push back on Faulconer attack

Larry Elder and his latest endorser, Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R–Richvale) strenuously pushed back on an attack levied by former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer.

During a Wednesday press conference, gubernatorial contender Larry Elder and his latest endorser, Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R–Richvale) strenuously pushed back on an attack levied by former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer during a Tuesday night debate.

Faulconer cited comments by Elder in a 2000 Op-Ed which cited studies that women were less familiar than men on topics such as political, economic, and current affairs.

He was also asked about a 2002 book comment wherein he defended a venture capital firm’s ability to discriminate against pregnant women on the basis of their commitment to the job.

Elder, LaMalfa, and ABC7 reporter Josh Haskell devolved into a back-and-forth over the accuracy of the line along with Elder’s reasoning for not attending debates exclusively featuring his GOP counterparts.
