New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D–Bronx) is in our neck of the woods, according to photos and video from her Instagram.
The Green New Deal pitchwoman posted videos from Kings Canyon National Park on Thursday afternoon.
The freshman legislator rode through the park on horseback, posing for photos next to Giant Sequoias in the park.
In one video of the trees, she wrote a lengthy caption reading: “These are all open to the public… through our incredible national parks system. This land is a precious resource to the entire world (not to mention all these trees are huge fighters against climate change with their carbon sequestration).”
According to McClatchy, Ocasio-Cortez is not expected to meet with the Fresno Grizzlies, nor colleague Rep. TJ Cox (D–Fresno), or Fresno City Councilwoman Esmeralda Soria.
Soria and Fresno City Councilman Miguel Arias met with Ocasio-Cortez during a trip to Washington, D.C. ahead of Soria’s Congressional campaign launch.
