49ers sign Pearsall to four-year deal

Pearsall is expected to make an immediate impact to San Francisco’s receiver room.

The San Francisco 49ers have signed first-round pick Ricky Pearsall to a four-year contract valued at a fully guaranteed $12.5 million.

With Pearsall under contract, all eight players from the 49ers’ draft class are now with the team well before the start of training camp.

Driving the news: Pearsall was selected 31st overall by the 49ers in April.

  • He played college football at Florida, where he had 65 catches for 965 yards and four touchdowns in his last season. Pearsall is known for his highlight-reel catches and is expected to provide the 49ers with an additional option as a slot receiver.
  • Prior to his time at Florida, Pearsall began his college career at Arizona State, where he was teammates with current 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk in 2019. Aiyuk has held out of the 49ers’ offseason program due to a contract dispute.
  • Throughout his college career at Florida and Arizona State, Pearsall accumulated 159 catches for 2,420 yards and 14 touchdowns in 55 games. His signing adds another potential playmaker to the 49ers’ offense, which reached the Super Bowl last season.
