Xavier Worthy’s cleats, jersey from NFL Combine headed to Canton

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will honor Xavier Worthy for his record setting run in the 40-yard dash.

Fresno native Xavier Worthy is being honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame for his record-setting 4.21-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that the Hall of Fame requested Worthy’s cleats and jersey from the combine.

Driving the news: Worthy, a Central High School graduate who went on to play for the Texas Longhorns in college, beat John Ross III’s record official time of 4.22 seconds at the NFL Combine earlier this month.

  • He reached a top-speed of 24.21 miles per hour during the dash.
  • Schefter reported that Worthy is sending the cleats and jersey from his record-breaking run to the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, where they will be put on display.
