Jalen Green, the former San Joaquin Memorial standout and G League star, is taking his talents to Houston after being drafted by the Rockets on Thursday night.
Green, whose draft stock skyrocketed in recent days to the second overall in the draft, was chosen just after Oklahoma State point guard Cade Cunningham.
Green spent the last season playing for the G League Ignite, part of the NBA’s non-collegiate talent development league.
Green, born in Merced and raised in Fresno, spent the bulk of his high school career at Fresno’s Memorial before departing for Prolific Prep in Napa.
