Fresno State volleyball headed to NCAA Tournament

This is the first time the Bulldogs have advanced to the NCAA tournament in over 20 years.

Fresno State volleyball is headed to the NCAA tournament for the first time in over two decades.

The Bulldogs advance to the national tournament after winning the Mountain West for the first time in program history.

The big picture: Fresno State will face off against Stanford on Friday in Palo Alto, the NCAA announced on Sunday.

  • Stanford, the Pac-12 champion, is one of four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA tournament, while the Bulldogs enter unseeded.
  • The winner will go on to play either Houston or UC Santa Barbara.
  • Fresno State beat Colorado State last week in the Mountain West title game to claim the conference championship and punch its ticket to the NCAA tournament.
  • This is the first time the Bulldogs have played in the NCAA tournament since 2022 and the fifth appearance overall.
