For the fifth consecutive season, the Fresno State football team will play in a postseason bowl game.
The Bulldogs (8-4, 5-3 Mountain West) accepted an invitation Sunday to the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Ginn & Juice by Dre & Snoop.
The state of play: Fresno State will face Miami (Ohio) (7-6, 6-2 Mid-American Conference) in the Arizona Bowl, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 27, at 1:30 p.m. PT at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucs on, Arizona, home of the University of Arizona football program.
- Miami (Ohio) finished in a three-way tie for second place in the MAC and lost the conference championship game to Western Michigan, 23-13, on Saturday.
- The upcoming game marks the first-ever matchup between Fresno State and Miami (Ohio), and the Bulldogs’ first appearance in the Arizona Bowl, which was established in 2015.
- It will be the 34th bowl appearance in Fresno State’s program history. The Bulldogs are 17-16 all-time in bowl games and have won five of their last six postseason contests dating back to 2017.
- Fresno State is led by first-year head coach Matt Entz, who becomes the fifth coach in school history to lead the team to a bowl game in his first season. With a win, Entz would join Jeff Tedford (2017) as the only two first-year head coaches to win a bowl game for Fresno State.
