Fresno St. grinds out gritty win over Nevada

Fresno State ended its slide in a key Mountain West Conference match-up with the Nevada Wolfpack.

Following a down stretch for Tim Skipper and his crew, the Fresno State Bulldogs managed to grind out a 24-21 victory over the Nevada Wolfpack behind two key touchdown runs from Elijah Gilliam.

The key play: Mikey Keene swung a screen pass to Gilliam resulted in a 71-yard gain to the Nevada 17-yard line. Joshua Wood scored on a 7-yard run to give the Bulldogs a three-point lead, which was the only score in the second half.

The scoring timeline: Nevada’s Savion Red scored a 3-yard touchdown to take an early 7-0 lead.
