Brand would love to see Fresno and Clovis get permanent seats on the Fresno County Local Agency Formation Commission. That, however, probably would require legislative help from Sacramento.
Brand said he was told by Pacheco that the supervisors plan to appoint fellow Supervisor Sal Quintero to LAFCO. Quintero spent about 25 years at City Hall as a council member/chief of staff.
“I saw that as a very friendly gesture, because Sal has many years of experience at City Hall,” Brand said. “He truly understands our land-use issues.”
There could be a year of talks just on county islands.
