CSU Bakersfield to bring in Nomar Garciaparra for baseball fundraiser 

The six-time All-Star will be in Kern County in January.

Former All-Star shortstop Nomar Garciaparra will be the guest speaker at the Hot Stove Dinner benefiting California State University, Bakersfield baseball. 

Driving the news: CSU Bakersfield announced that Garciaparra will speak at the ninth annual Hot Stove Dinner, which is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2024.

  • Garciaparra played 14 years in Major League Baseball for the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland A’s. 
  • The dinner will be held at the Kern County Fairgrounds from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and include a Q&A with Garciaparra. 
  • The event will also have a silent auction for sports memorabilia, vacation packages, gourmet meals and more.
