Fresno raw cheese product recalled due to E. coli

The raw cheese, meaning it was never pasteurized, comes from a family-owned farm in Fresno.

A Fresno dairy farm has been linked to an E. coli outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The big picture: The CDC announced that Raw Milk Cheese, a product of Fresno’s Raw Farm, is being recalled due to an E. coli outbreak.

  • There have been 10 people who have fallen ill across California, Utah and Colorado, resulting in four hospitalizations.
  • The Raw Milk Cheese recalled includes original and jalapeno flavors and all sizes of blocks and shredded packages.
  • The CDC advises consumers to throw away or return the cheese and to wash any surfaces that may have been contaminated.
