McClintock defends Newsom for defying “idiotic COVID edicts” for French Laundry dinner

Newsom received added blowback when it was unearthed that two top executives for the California Medical Association participated in the rule-breaking dinner.

Rep. Tom McClintock (R–Elk Grove) made the remarks during Morning Hour speeches on the House floor Thursday following days of bad press over Gov. Gavin Newsom’s maskless birthday dinner for a former advisor and current lobbyist, Jason Kinney, at Napa-based restaurant The French Laundry.
