Fresno State is getting an official bobblehead for its mascot, TimeOut.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled TimeOut’s bobblehead on Friday.
The big picture: There will be 2,024 TimeOut bobbleheads released by the organization, which can be purchased for $35 online.
- The bobblehead features TimeOut wearing a Fresno State jersey while standing on a platform base that says Bulldogs.
The backstory: The history behind Fresno State’s mascot dates back to 1921, when student body president Warren Moody and friends were regularly greeted by a white bulldog on campus.
- After students began to bring the dog to football games, the university officially adopted the Bulldogs as the official nickname.
Flashback: This isn’t the first time that Fresno State has had officially licensed bobbleheads.
- The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum previously released bobbleheads that featured the live Bulldog mascots Victor E. Bulldog III and IV.
What they’re saying: “We’re excited to unveil this new Fresno State Bulldogs Bobblehead in conjunction with the start of the new school year,” said National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for Fresno State fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school pride!”
