The San Francisco Giants have traded designated hitter Jorge Soler and reliever Luke Jackson to the Atlanta Braves.
It’s a return to Atlanta for Soler and Jackson, who helped the Braves win the 2021 World Series.
The big picture: In return, the Giants received left-handed reliever Tyler Matzek and minor league infielder Sabin Ceballos from the Braves.
- Soler had a batting average of .240 with 12 home runs and 40 RBIs in 93 games for the Giants this season.
- Soler, an All-Star with Miami last year, joined the Braves in 2021 and hit .269 with 14 home runs and 33 RBIs in 55 games after the trade deadline.
