Boise State has been picked to win the Mountain West, the 14th time in a row the Broncos are expected to top the conference in football.
Fresno State received votes to lead the conference but is ultimately expected to finish in third place.
The big picture: Boise State drew 38 of 46 first-place votes and 543 total points in the preseason poll.
- The Broncos beat UNLV in the Mountain West Championship game last season to claim the conference title.
- UNLV drew four first-place votes and 471 points, edging out Fresno State, which also had four first-place votes but came just behind with 460 points.
What we’re watching: The top two teams with the best records in Mountain West play will meet in the conference championship game on Dec. 6.
