Comedian Richard Lewis passed away at his home in Los Angeles on Tuesday at the age of 76.
His publicist, Jeff Abraham, revealed that he suffered a heart attack.
Driving the news: Lewis, who was known for his recurring role on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, revealed in 2023 that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
- Throughout his career, Lewis performed in clubs, on late-night TV, and starred in “Anything But Love” and “Robin Hood: Men in Tights.”
- He gained popularity over the last couple of decades by joining Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
- Lewis was recognized as one of the top 50 stand-up comedians of all time by Comedy Central and featured in GQ magazine’s list of the “20th Century’s Most Influential Humorists.”
- He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lapinsky.
