The Kern County Board of Supervisors has selected Elsa Martinez to serve as the interim Chief Administrative Officer.
The big picture: Martinez ascends to the county’s top job after serving as the Chief FInancial Officer for 12 years.
- She takes over in the interim after Jim Zervis announced that he is leaving the county to relocate to Florida.
- Martinez will serve as the Chief Administrative Officer while the county conducts a nationwide search for a permanent hire.
- She officially takes over the position on March 9.
