The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday that Raymond Guido, 32, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for murdering a Mexican man in Fresno.
The big picture: Guido was found guilty of murdering Luis Castillo, 40, who came to Fresno from Mexico to provide for his family that still lived in Mexico.
- Castillo had been living with his sister in Fresno for less than three months when Guido robbed and murdered him on Dec. 30, 2022.
- Guido had been on parole for just four months for an assault with a semi-automatic firearm at the time of the murder.
- He served just two years and four months of a six-year state prison sentence.
- Guido also had multiple prior convictions for other firearm and weapons offenses.
