Quarterback Jake Haener was the only player out of Fresno State to be selected in the NFL Draft over the weekend as he was picked in the fourth round by the New Orleans Saints.

But four other former Bulldogs and a former Clovis West quarterback signed with teams as undrafted free agents after the draft wrapped up on Saturday.

Here’s a look at where the local talent will have their first crack at making an NFL roster:

Jalen Moreno-Cropper

  • Moreno-Cropper was Fresno State’s leading receiver the last three seasons, and he broke the 1,000-yard threshold in 2022, leading many to believe that he would be an attractive option to NFL teams in the draft.
  • While he had to sit through the weekend without hearing his name called, he quickly signed with the Dallas Cowboys once the draft wrapped up.
  • Moreno-Cropper will be battling for the fourth spot on the depth chart as Dallas’s receivers room is headlined by CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup.

Jordan Mims

  • After playing four seasons with fellow running back Ronnie Rivers, Mims had an opportunity to be the feature back for the Bulldogs last season.
  • Mims did not disappoint, rushing for 1,370 yards and 18 touchdowns.
  • He signed with the Buffalo Bills after the draft.
  • The Bills did not draft a running back this year, but they already had James Cook and Damien Harris on the team before adding veteran Latavius Murray to the group on Monday.

David Perales

  • Fresno State’s top defensive end will try to earn a spot with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • Perales was Fresno State’s lone consistent pass rushing threat last season with 11.5 sacks.
  • He’ll join an edge rushing group that includes former NFL Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt.

Nikko Remigio

  • Remigio transferred to Fresno State after four seasons at Cal for an opportunity for more playing time and quickly became a fan favorite with his explosive ability in the receiving and returning game.
  • He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and will have an opportunity to work with reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes at quarterback.
  • While Remigio has a dozen other receivers ahead of him on the Chiefs’ depth chart, his path to making the roster could be on special teams in the return game.

Adrian Martinez

  • Martinez, a product of Clovis West High School, was a four year starter before transferring to Kansas State for his final season of collegiate eligibility.
  • He signed with the Detroit Lions shortly after the draft, joining a quarterback room headlined by former No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff.
  • The Lions also selected Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker in the third round and also have Nate Sudfeld in the room.
