Netflix to host two NFL games on Christmas

The NFL is expanding its deals with streaming services.

The NFL is headed to Netflix on Christmas Day.

Netflix announced on Wednesday that it acquired broadcast rights for the next three years for the NFL’s Christmas Day games.

The big picture: This year Netflix will stream two games on Christmas: the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens versus the Houston Texans.

  • In 2025 and 2026, Netflix will stream “at least one” holiday game, although the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
  • Along with the usual slate of games on traditional broadcast, the NFL adds Netflix to the list of streaming services which have broadcast games, including Amazon Prime, Peacock and YouTube TV.

What they’re saying: “There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, that compare with the audiences NFL football attracts,” said Netflix’s chief content officer Bela Baraja. “We’re so excited that the NFL’s Christmas Day games will be only on Netflix.”
