Fresno State Bulldogs

Haener, DeBoer-less ‘Dogs have a bowl game destination, reports say.

Fresno State’s chance at a tenth win on the 2021 season will come without exiting quarterback Jake Haener and head coach Kalen DeBoer.

But at least interim head coach Lee Marks and the rest of the squad are getting a clearer picture of where they’ll head for bowl season.

Reports late Saturday projected The 9-2 Bulldogs will hit the road to Albuquerque, N.M. for a date with UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl.

The El Paso-based program closed out its regular season schedule with a 7-5 record coming in fourth in Conference USA western division play.

The shake-up in bowl destinations comes one day removed from the Utah State-led upset of then-19th ranked San Diego State in the Mountain West Championship game.
