Bulldogs complete collapse, drop regular season finale to San Diego St.

The Dogs were projected to be favorites to contend for back-to-back conference crowns. They collapsed in conference play instead.

One week after being eliminated from contention for a repeat Mountain West crown, Fresno State completed an end-of-season collapse in America’s Finest City.

Jeff Tedford’s Bulldogs fell to the lowly San Diego State Aztecs 33-18 on Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium

State of play: Fresno State’s uneven performance on offense featured only a single brightspot from running back Malik Sherrod , who picked up the game’s first touchdown on a 62-yard run.

  • Aztec quarterback Jalen Mayden made use of his dual threat nature, rattling off a touchdown-on-foot and one touchdown completion to pick up San Diego State’s fourth win of hte season. He rushed for 96 yards on the night.
  • Despite losing four of their last four games, Fresno State still retains bowl eligibility.
