State of play: Fresno State’s uneven performance on offense featured only a single brightspot from running back Malik Sherrod , who picked up the game’s first touchdown on a 62-yard run.
- Aztec quarterback Jalen Mayden made use of his dual threat nature, rattling off a touchdown-on-foot and one touchdown completion to pick up San Diego State’s fourth win of hte season. He rushed for 96 yards on the night.
- Despite losing four of their last four games, Fresno State still retains bowl eligibility.
