A former Tulare County Supervisor will be filling in as the interim city manager for the City of Lindsay.
The Lindsay City Council voted 5-0 in closed session to appoint Kuyler Crocker as the interim city manager after Daymon Qualls resigned less than a full year on the job.
Driving the news: Qualls, who got the job last July, sent a letter of resignation to the Lindsay City Council, necessitating the search for another city manager yet again.
- Qualls said in his letter of resignation that he will focus on spending more time with his family, according to a report from the Porterville Recorder.
- Qualls plans to help Crocker take transition to the interim role while the city searches for a permanent hire.
State of play: Crocker, a fifth generation Strathmore farmer, was elected to the Tulare County Board of Supervisors in 2016.
- He served on the board through 2020, when he was defeated by Larry Micari.
- He has a degree in Public Administration from Fresno State and has studied Business Management, with an emphasis on organizational leadership, GIS mapping and urban and regional planning.
Flashback: Joe Tanner was fired as city manager last March after he was placed on administrative leave for an investigation into how he was taking his vacation hours.
- Armando da Silva served as the interim city manager following Tanner until Qualls was hired.
