Rep. Adam Schiff (D–Burbank) has been endorsed by United Farm Workers in his U.S. Senate Race.
Driving the news: UFW, the farm union founded by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huearta, endorsed Schiff at an event in Salinas on Wednesday.
- The endorsement is a major pickup for Schiff, who leads former baseball star Steve Garvey and Representatives Katie Porter (D–Irvine) and Barbara Lee (D–Oakland) in the polls.
What they’re saying: “I’m proud to receive the endorsement of United Farm Workers,” Schiff posted on Facebook. “Rain or shine, farm workers feed the nation. In the U.S. Senate, I look forward to working arm in arm with UFW for better pay and safer working conditions for these essential workers who put food on our table.”
