Mike Johnson headed to Fresno for Republican fundraiser

Donors will have an opportunity to hear directly from Johnson about the state of Congress.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is headed to Fresno next week for a fundraiser.

Johnson follows in the footsteps of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who represented part of Fresno County before he left office.

Driving the news: Harris Construction owner Richard Spencer and his wife Karen will host the fundraiser on April 4 at an undisclosed location.

  • According to a flier, Johnson is fundraising for the Grow the Majority CA PAC, which would benefit Rep. David Valadao (R–Hanford) and Rep. John Duarte (R–Modesto), as well as Republican challengers in the state, such as Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln, who is taking on Rep. Josh Harder (D–Tracy).
  • The flier states that Johnson will speak about his priorities for 2024.

What it costs: Donors can get in the door for a minimum of $1,000.

  • There are two other donor options: $3,300 for the co-chair category and $6,600 for the chair category.
