An inmate from the U.S. Penitentiary at Atwater, who is from Fresno, pleaded guilty in federal court to assault with a deadly weapon.
Driving the news: Last April, Kent chased another inmate around a cell block at the prison while holding a weapon he made in jail that was knife-like.
- Kent and another inmate used his knife to stab the victim, who was wounded and required medical attention.
What we’re watching: Kent will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kirk Sherriff on June 23.
- He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
