Fresno man busted in Hanford for robbing a bank

Hanford police arrested the man after locating him on a public bus.

A Fresno man has been arrested for robbing a bank in Hanford. 

The big picture: Hanford Police arrested William McDaniel, a Fresno resident, on Tuesday for robbing the Bank of the Sierra. 

  • McDaniel, 33, went into the bank wearing a beanie and a mask. 
  • He walked up to a teller and handed over a note requesting a large amount of money in exchange for no one getting hurt. 
  • Officers were called after McDaniel left and learned that he was being followed and had boarded a bus about a block away. 
  • Officers found McDaniel inside of the bus and detained him without incident.

  • He was already on active California Adult Parole Supervision for a prior violent crime. 
  • Officers booked McDaniel into the Kings County Jail for attempted robbery and a parole violation.
