Police bust illegal casino in southeast Fresno

Seven working slot machines were recovered at the site.

Fresno police busted an illegal casino operation and narcotics sales during an investigation on Wednesday. 

The big picture: Detectives from the Southeast Policing District received a tip of an illegal casino at 3777 E. Olive Ave. 

  • The ensuing investigation found that narcotic sales were also occurring at the location, leading police to get a search warrant. 
  • Officers arrested Khamphonh Phaphonh on firearms and drugs charges. 
  • They also placed Kevin Pech in a parole hold. 

Go deeper: During the search on Wednesday, detectives seized three firearms, a P80 9mm, a Keltec 9mm which was reported stolen and a Sig Sauer P238. 

  • Detectives also seized three operational slot machines and five pounds of methamphetamine that were packaged for sale.
