Fresno man sentenced to prison for child pornography

The 25-year-old man will be supervised for the rest of his life after he is released.

A Fresno man was sentenced in federal court on Wednesday for sexual exploitation of a minor and receipt of child pornography.

Nicolas Adan Guereca, 25, was sentenced to 25 years in prison and was ordered to pay $60,200 in financial assessments.

The big picture: Court documents state that Guereca used a cellphone and an instagram account in July 2019 to locate and communicate with a minor victim.

  • Guereca coerced the victim to engage in sexually explicit conduct and create visual depictions of that conduct for the purpose of transmitting them to him.
  • Investigators later learned that he had used multiple phones and Yahoo, Snapchat and Instagram accounts to communicate with minor females.
  • Some of the minors who he received images of were as young as 12 years old. The minors were engaged in sexual conduct in the images.

What we’re watching: After he is released from prison, Guereca will be followed with a lifetime of supervision.

  • His access to minors, computers and the internet will be restricted.
  • He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
