Fresno Police arrest nine at latest DUI checkpoint

The next targeted DUI sweep is scheduled for New Year’s Eve.

The Fresno Police Department’s most recent DUI checkpoint resulted in nine arrests. 

The big picture: Fresno Police announced that the DUI Checkpoint at Clovis Ave. and Lamona Ave. was held on Dec. 22 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. 

  • There were 21 drivers cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended or revoked license. 
  • Fresno Police contacted 289 vehicles through the checkpoint. 
  • The next DUI enforcement operation will be a saturation patrol scheduled for Dec. 31.
