Former Kern County Supervisor Zach Scrivner will not appear in court until February.
Scrivner had a hearing scheduled for Monday for a domestic violence restraining order.
The big picture: The hearing was postponed on Monday by Kern County Superior Court Judge Tanya Richard.
- Scrivner’s attorney, Robert Carbone, asked Richard to postpone the hearing since the criminal investigation into the former supervisor is pending. An attorney representing Scrivner’s wife was also not available on Monday.
- Neither Scrivner nor his wife, Christina Scrivner, appeared in court on Monday.
The backstory: Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood announced in April that Scrivner was stabbed by one of his children for allegedly assaulting one of his other children.
- Scrivner resigned in August after disappearing from the board since April and made his only public appearance a few days later during a court hearing on Zoom. Scrivner agreed to pay child support during that hearing.
- He currently has a temporary restraining order placed on him to prevent him from contacting his children.
- There have been no criminal charges filed against Scrivner. The California Attorney General’s Office has been investigating the incident.
