Two schools in Kings Canyon Unified School District were named to the 2025 “California Schools to Watch List.”
The big picture: Schools that make the list demonstrate academic excellence while also ensuring that teachers have the tools they need to help students succeed.
- Schools have to undergo a rigorous application process and host a site visit to make the list. They also have to reapply every three years to maintain the designation.
- The two schools that made the list are Silas Bartsch School and Navelencia Middle School.
Flashback: Three other schools in Kings Canyon Unified made the list previously.
- Grant Middle School was named to the list in 2020 and again in 2023, joined by Riverview School and T.L. Reed School in 2023.
What he’s saying: “Congratulations to Silas Bartsch School and Navelencia Middle School on this well-deserved recognition,” said Kings Canyon Unified Superintendent John Campbell, Superintendent. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our students, teachers, and administrators who strive daily to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.”
