Journalist Robert Costa to speak at Fresno State

Costa has become a familiar face around campus, having spoken at the university several times in the last decade.

CBS News journalist Robert Costa is returning to the Central Valley next month as part of The Maddy Institute’s Speaker Series.

Costa, the Chief Election and Campaign Correspondent for CBS News, will speak at Fresno State’s Satellite Student Union on Dec. 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Driving the news: Along with his work for CBS, Costa also authored Peril with Bob Woodward.

  • His talk will focus on the state of the White House, the dynamics within Congress and the future for both major political parties.
  • Costa will participate in a question and answer session following his talk.
  • The event is free and open to the public, but since seating is limited, people are encouraged to RSVP online by Nov. 29.

What they’re saying: “We are excited to welcome Robert Costa to the San Joaquin Valley,” said Blake Zante, Executive Director of The Maddy Institute. “Costa’s work embodies the critical importance of journalism in shaping informed public discourse and strengthening our democracy. His visit will offer our community an invaluable opportunity to hear from one of the leading figures in political reporting.”
