Diane Pearce endorses Bonakdar for city council

Bonakdar picked up an endorsement from a conservative member of the Clovis City Council.

Fresno City Council candidate Roger Bonakdar has received the endorsement of Clovis City Councilwoman Diane Pearce.

The big picture: Bonakdar finished the March 5 primary in first place and will run against Nick Richardson in the November election.

  • Bonakdar has the endorsements of the Fresno Police Officers Association, Fresno City Firefighters, the Fresno Deputy Sheriffs Association, Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni, retired Sheriffs Margaret Mims and Steve Magarian and retired Fire Chief Kerri Donis.
  • He also has the support of former Mayor Lee Brand, retired councilman Jerry Duncan, the Fresno County Republican Party, the Fresno Chamber of Commerce, the San Joaquin Valley Taxpayers Association and the Lincoln Club of Fresno.

What they’re saying: “I am honored that so many local leaders support my vision to lead Fresno in the right direction,” Bonakdar said. “Councilwoman Pearce is a strong-willed, principled leader who has fought hard to strengthen the City of Clovis. I look forward to working with her to increase cooperation between our two great cities, and am humbled to have her support and welcome her to Team Roger!”
