Protests over the Israel-Hamas at UCLA turned violent overnight, with protesters and counter-protesters clashing on campus.
UCLA canceled all classes on Wednesday in the aftermath and encouraged all students to avoid the area where the violence occurred.
Driving the news: The clash between both sides took place on Royce Quad throughout several hours starting Tuesday night and going into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

- Around midnight, the UCLA Police Department requested help from the Los Angeles Police Department, and officers arrived on campus shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday.
