California is looking for an inmate that prison officials say walked away from a reentry program.
Prison officials are looking for Estefani Saldana-Lemus, 27, who left the program in Stockton.
Driving the news: Saldana-Lemus was transferred from Fresno County in March 2023 to serve a five-year sentence for driving under the influence causing bodily injury or death.
- She is five-foot-one, weighs 222 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair.
The big picture: The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) said Sunday that Saldana-Lemus was reported missing after a routine security check Sunday night.
- Staff immediately launched a search and conducted an emergency count at the Female Community Reentry Program.
- The CDCR said that 99 percent of all people who have left an adult institution, camp or community-based program without permission since 1977 have been apprehended.
