Two hotly-contested Fresno County Board of Supervisors races appear to be headed to a runoff in November.
No candidates in the District 2 or District 3 races received a majority vote on Tuesday, necessitating the runoff.
District 2: Fresno City Councilman Garry Bredefeld leads the pack with 39.7 percent of the vote, per the latest count on Tuesday night.
- Incumbent Steve Brandau is in second place with 27.38 percent, followed by Fresno County Assessor-Recorder Paul Dictos at 16.43 percent.
- Bryce Herrera has 8.97 percent, while Dion Bourdase has 7.37 percent.
District 3: Supervisor Sal Quintero is in first place with 40.95 percent of the vote.
- If the current standings remain, Quintero will face his former protege Fresno City Councilman Luis Chavez in November.
- Chavez is in second place with 25.3 percent, followed by fellow Councilman Miguel Arias at 17.54 percent.
- Edward Hinojosa nearly matched Arias on Tuesday at 15.75 percent.
District 5: Supervisor Nathan Magsig secured his re-election to the board with 70.69 percent of the vote on Tuesday.
- His opponent, Jennifer Cruz, had 29.11 percent at the latest count.
