Fresno State tight end Jared Rice was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list Thursday.
The Biletnikoff Award honors the most outstanding receiver in college football, regardless of position. Anyone who catches a forward pass is eligible.
Rice is one of only four tight ends named to the 50-person list.
Rice enters his senior season as one of the most experienced Bulldogs on the roster. He’s played 38 games, including 20 as a starter.
Last season he was named to the All-Mountain West Second Team and was Fresno State’s second-leading receiver behind former Bulldog KeeSean Johnson.
Rice ranked fourth in the country among tight ends with 55 receptions and was sixth with 664 receiving yards.
He averaged 47 receiving yards per game in 2018 and also scored three touchdowns.
The Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented on Dec. 12 on The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.
