NAS Lemoore lockdown lifted after bomb threat

Evacuations occurred after a threat was made against the operations side of the air base.

Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore in Kings County, California has lifted its lockdown on its operations side of the base after receiving a bomb threat Tuesday morning.

Driving the news: NAS Lemoore’s Facebook page announced mid-day that the lockdown had been lifted, gates were re-opened, and operations were able to resume.

Earlier in the day: Personnel were evacuated from affected areas, and both first responders and security forces are on the scene.

  • Officials have initiated lockdown procedures and ask that personnel do not try to gain access to the Operations side at this time.
  • Other personnel on the base are being asked to stay indoors in their areas and not to leave.
  • The situation is ongoing and developing.
