The full cost to show Central Unified Superintendent Andrew Alvarado the door is now in the spotlight.
Alvarado, who was arrested June 4 at his northwest Fresno home and was released from Fresno County Jail after posting $2,500 bond.
Shortly after news of the arrest, the Central Unified’s School Board placed Alvarado on administrative leave and initiated an investigation into his conduct.
Madera County prosecutors were tapped to investigate and potentially charge Alvarado after Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp cited a conflict of interest and transferred the case in June.
They opted not to file domestic violence charges against him.
Last week, following the announcement of non-prosecution in that controversy, Alvarado resigned from his post while on leave.
Alvarado and district officials negotiated a settlement before his resignation.
According to settlement documents obtained by ABC30, the district agreed to pay Alvarado an estimated six months of salary, totaling $110,378.50.
He was also able cash-out vacation time and will remain covered via district health insurance through February 2022, the station reported.
Under the terms of the agreement, Alvarado is barred from suing the district for civil rights violations, defamation, and economic interference, or infliction of emotional distress.
The agreement also included the specific language to be used in public statements coordinated with his resignation.
Alvarado still faces a misdemeanor charge for contracting without a license.
