California’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control delivered a 25-day suspension notice to a central Fresno liquor store after it was alleged to have sold alcohol to a minor last May who subsequently crashed a car while under the influence, killing the driver and injuring a minor passenger.
The alcohol regulation agency conducted what it describes as a TRACE, or Target Responsibility for Alcohol Connected Emergencies, investigation related to the May 22, 2020 fatal solo-car crash.
“This tragedy could have been prevented”, said ABC Director Eric Hirata. “Protecting youth is a public safety priority. ABC licensees must remain vigilant and check identifications carefully to keep youth safe.”
Per the terms of the license suspension, the liquor store – Quick-N-Shop, located at 1240 West Shields Ave. in Fresno – cannot serve alcohol until May 31.
